Vango Piano Method

As an experienced piano teacher with a piano performance, music theory and child development background, Hannah has written five books of the Vango Piano Method (three of which are available; books 4 and 5 are in printing) and advises other piano teachers.

Book One

Vango Piano Method, Book One is designed for young beginners (4 to 6 years old) learning piano for the first time. Many powerful tools in this book will enable young students to understand musical concepts effortlessly. The students do not have to know how to read. All they need to know is how to write and read A to G and numbers 1 to 4. For the convenience of teachers and parents, the instructions are written on the pages. The book covers all basic notes and rests, sharp and flat signs, all letter names, and much more in a very easy and fun way for young beginners. They will love the theory games. After this book, they will be ready to learn the grand staff, which is introduced in Level Two.

Book Two

Vango Piano Method, Book Two is designed for students who finished Vango Piano Method, Book One, or students aged 6 and up, learning piano for the first time. The beginning of the book introduces the basic notes, rests, letter names, and the grand staff, which is a solid ground for musicianship. This method focuses on reading notes and rhythms correctly, while many music theory games enforce students' music theory knowledge. This book is 107 pages long and contains all the materials for a beginner to learn piano. No extra lesson book or theory book is needed.

Book Three

Vango Piano Method, Book Three is designed for students who finished Book Two. There are many popular songs newly introduced, such as Jingle Bells, Ode to Joy, Row Row Row Your Boat and many more. Your students will be very excited about playing songs they are already familiar with. Many new concepts are introduced, such as dynamic signs, eight notes, speed markings in Italian and so on. The repetitions of the theory and note spelling exercises will enforce the students' musical knowledge.

Why the Vango Piano Method?

The Vango Piano Method is unique and different from other piano methods since it presents musical concepts in a systematic and comprehensive way so that students learn thoroughly, which helps them reach their full potential. It emphasizes reading notes and rhythms correctly, which is fundamental in learning music. It also stresses the geography of notes, musical terms, and physical techniques and music theory. It contains the right amount of colorful illustrations so that students find them interesting but not overwhelming. Many other piano methods often introduce fingering numbers too soon and use fixed hand positions, resulting in the student's difficulty to read notes without fingering numbers or without knowing the hand position. Also, too many colorful illustrations in some method books have been reported as distracting.
